KUNGWINI WELFARE ORGANISATION

The land on which Kungwini Welfare Organisation is situated was donated by the late Dr Arrie Jungnickel to the Cripple Care Association in 1976.  After realising the shortage of available care facilities for adults with disabilities the family donated portion 214, Zwavelpoort with the exclusive condition to build a care facility for adults with disabilities.  Paul Jungnickel Home was opened in May 1983.  August 1995 it was decided that Paul Jungnickel Home will become independent from the Association for Persons with Disabilities: Gauteng North and the process was completed in March 1996.  The organisation went from strength to strength in the following years and in June 2002 Kungwini Welfare Organisation was established as the umbrella organisation for the services offered by the organisation that included Paul Jungnickel Home, Community and Social Work Services and Kungwini Early Learning Centre.  Today Kungwini Welfare Organisation is proud to facilitate, Paul Jungnickel Home & Paul Jungnickel Home Senior Medical Care and Residential Facility, Activities & Protective Workshop, Social Work Services, Kungwini Early Childhood Development Centre, Tshwenyega Clinic, Brown Eye Care Optometrist, Second Chances Donation Shop and the Nickel Christmas Market.

We are a team of passionate and driven individuals with a desire to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities, children and the community daily.  We do not just talk the talk, we walk the walk!  We have a heart for the important issues in our community and invest our time, energy and passion to bring hope to every individual that crosses our path.

About KWO

Kungwini Welfare Organisation started in 1983 when Paul Jungnickel Home was opened for adults with disabilities. Since then we have come a long way and now we offer medical care and residence to 140 disabled adults and 25 Senior adults in our Paul Jungnickel Home Senior that we opened in 2019.

We also offer social work services and projects to assist and uplift the whole community in our immediate area, including an Early Learning Centre that offers schooling for pre-school children of the community.
