Kungwini Welfare Organisation is a 24/7 operation committed to providing quality care and facilities for our disabled residents. To achieve this, the organisation operates with four main departments:

Through the dedication of our staff, the support of donors and volunteers, we can make a meaningful difference in people's lives every day.

Our History

Established in 1983 as Paul Jungnickel Home and growing to Kungwini Welfare Organisation, registered as NPO in 2002 dedicated to providing care and support for adults with disabilities. This marked the organisation's initial steps in its commitment to fostering inclusivity and support for vulnerable individuals. The land on which Kungwini Welfare Organisation is situated was donated by the late Dr Arrie Jungnickel to the Cripple Care Association. Over the years, Kungwini Welfare has undergone significant growth, expanding its services and impact within the community to become the No 1 service provider of its kind in Gauteng.

The cornerstone of Kungwini Welfare's efforts is Paul Jungnickel Home, which provides medical and residential care.  In 2019 the facility expanded to include Paul Jungnickel Home Senior for residents aged 60 years + This expansion exemplifies Kungwini Welfare's dedication to addressing the diverse needs of individuals across different life stages.

The organisation actively engages in initiatives designed to enhance the well-being of the entire community in its immediate area. A notable contribution to education is the Kungwini Early Learning Centre, providing schooling for pre-school children within the community. This educational outreach reflects Kungwini Welfare's commitment to holistic community development, ensuring that the youngest members receive a strong foundation for their future.

With a history rooted in compassion and a clear vision for the future, Kungwini Welfare Organisation remains dedicated to empowering vulnerable people. Since 1983, we have expanded our support from individuals with disabilities to include seniors and broader community development initiatives. We are committed to being a well-governed, value-driven organisation, providing specialised services that empower every person to live with dignity and purpose.
